Frequently Asked Questions

Does the nib dry out if left uncapped?

No. When retracted, an internal spring-actuated shutter door seals the nib compartment airtight, preventing the feed and nib from drying out even during extended pauses between writing.

Can I use standard international cartridges?

The Pilot Capless uses proprietary Pilot ink cartridges or the Pilot CON-40 converter. Standard international cartridges are not compatible.

How does the inverted clip affect writing comfort?

The clip is positioned at the grip section to ensure the pen is always stored nib-up in a pocket, preventing leaks. For traditional tripod grips, the clip acts as a natural guide for finger placement.
