No. Pilot uses a proprietary cartridge connection diameter (6mm inner aperture / 8mm outer diameter) engineered exclusively for Pilot and Namiki fountain pens, including the 78G+, Kakuno, and Metropolitan. They do not fit standard international short or long fountain pens.
Can I use this ink with extra-fine (EF) and fine (F) nibs without clogging?
Yes. Pilot ink is pH-neutral and water-based, specifically developed to maintain stable capillary flow through narrow Japanese nib feeds without drying out or causing sediment buildup.
How do I install the Pilot IC-100 cartridge into the Pilot 78G+?
Remove the pen barrel, hold the cartridge with the sealed opening pointing toward the nib section, and push straight in firmly until the internal seal puncture disk dislodges. Keep the pen tip facing down for 30–60 seconds to allow the feed to saturate.
